This is My Newest Skincare Obsession

There’s smart skincare, and there’s really smart skincare. Like the type that’s so advanced and cool that it makes you wonder, “why can’t I ever think of something like that?” Yet, no matter how avant-garde the product or brand may seem, once you begin to peel away the layers and dive into the brand DNA, you learn that there’s intention behind its existence and purpose for its formulas. And you fall even more in love.

Those were all of my exact thoughts when I first discovered Navinka Skin. Immediately, the minimalistic packaging drew me in. It packs a powerful science-savvy punch, but there’s so much more to this skincare brand. Made in small batches, so the formulations are always at their freshest, most potent level, this clean, effective line differs from other clean beauty brands in that it’s all about delivering skin strengthening. These nutrient-dense formulas actually help the skin to recover from environmental stress. One night of using the products was all it took to get me hooked.

I always thought it would be so cool and intelligent for a skincare brand to come out with products made for specific areas of the face. Yes, lip, neck, and eye creams have long been staples in women’s routines—as well as mine—but what about other areas of the face that are problematic? Think the cheeks and T-zone, which for me, are always on my target list since my skin is oily and breakout-prone. Navinka did that and then some.

When I learned that Navinka T-Zone + Cheeks serums were developed specifically for these areas, I felt like the founders created these fragrance-free products with me in mind. I love applying the hydrating serums right after cleansing my skin—it feels like a tall drink of water. Also, because it contains nonirritating hydrators like hyaluronic acid, red algae, and watermelon, I never have to worry about it instigating a breakout.

Besides the T-Zone + Cheeks serums, I’m also obsessed with their exfoliating serum, Nightly Calibrator. It’s like magic in a bottle with the most wholesome complex of mandelic and phytic acids plus skin-brightening mushroom extracts that go to work to improve discoloration and spots while I get some serious shut-eye.

The skin regenerates, repairs, and rejuvenates itself while we sleep to undo all the damage it incurs during the waking hour. That’s why when you don’t get enough quality sleep, the skin emerges dull, dry, and just crappy in the morning—and you can imagine how days upon weeks of poor sleep surface on your skin. Even on nights when I toss and turn, this glow-instilling serum does its thing to aid in the natural skin renewal process. Legit, my skin emerges radiant and as soft as a baby’s butt, which of course, makes my makeup look that much better. One of my friends asked what laser I just had done because she couldn’t get over ‘how sparkly’ my skin looks (her words, not mine). So naturally, I revealed my secret because I’m a good friend.

I’m also a big fan of the bottle design. Unlike many other anti-aging brands that use tiny bottlenecks that easily clog, this one employs a flexible plastic nozzle. So rather than having to slap the product on its rear end and shake it furiously to get just a drop of serum out, the formula slid right out with just a gentle squeeze of the nozzle. And because the packaging is oh-so-very targeted and the droppers are unique in design—they also prevent the products from oxidizing, so they’re fresher for longer, which is a huge plus—you can get every last drop out.

For those with sensitive skin, Navinka is a godsend. Because it uses a natural preservative system instead of harsh preservatives that can disrupt the skin’s balance, there’s no need for those with sensitive skin to worry about a freakout. Preservatives are tricky to navigate, and unbeknownst to many, it’s not necessarily the ingredients in a product that can wreak havoc on your skin but rather the preservative system used. Plus, no one wants, nor should they be, applying products on their skin that have an extensive shelf life courtesy of some stabilizing agents that offer no benefit to the health of your skin.

I know I talk about a lot of skincare products, and I do have quite a number of them on rotation at any given time. Unfortunately, a good chunk of those that I don’t find do much to improve or maintain the health of my skin end up in the beauty graveyard. However, these are not going there, and I love the results so much that I’m going in for a restock soon courtesy of my wallet and not a gifting opp.

Try it. You’ll like it. And your skin will thank you.

xx
